Recently, an idea exchange, called a charette, took place between Richmond and Qatar faculty and students. Five design faculty members from VCU School of the Arts in Qatar visited Richmond and three design and one Kinetic Imaging faculty members from Richmond went to Qatar. Additionally, approximately 100 students from Graphic Design, Interior Design, Fashion Design and Merchandising, and Kinetic Imaging in Richmond and 45 from Doha, Qatar took part.

Students were given a project for which they had four days to research and develop a solution.

The purpose of the charette was to explore and experience the process of collaboration and interaction, and to bring faculty and students from both campuses closer together.
