Sheila Blair (Department of Art History) was awarded the “World Prize for the Book of the Year”. This award was given by the Ministry of Culture of the Islamic Republic of Iran for “Islamic Calligraphy” (Edinburgh: Edinburgh University Press, 2006). This was the 15th Round (started in 1993) and was held in conjunction with the 25th round of the “Book of the Year” prize.
