Duc Nguyen is a working medical illustrator and animator in Richmond, Va and currently a professional member of the Association of Medical Illustrators (AMI). He was the recipient of both an AMI Award of Excellence for his graduate artwork and Vesalius Trust Research Grant in 2007.
He fulfilled his undergraduate education at the College of William and Mary and the Department of Communication Arts, in the School of the Arts at Commonwealth University. He attended Johns Hopkins for graduate study. His graduate thesis was completed on the applications and technical challenges of radiology-based visualization programs for three-dimensional modeling of the neck.

The Fishbowl / 3rd Floor / Fine Arts Building / 1000 West Broad Street presents INTERACTION 32. Nineteen graduating seniors from the Painting and Printmaking and Sculpture Departments at Virginia Commonwealth University will be exhibiting works on paper. The public is invited to the reception, Tuesday, April 15, 2008, 5 to 6:30 p.m.
The exhibition consists of work representing many diverse ideas ranging from social commentary to personal iconography. The works are created in a wide variety of media; including lithography, etching, silkscreen, oil, charcoal, and digital based imagery.

Performatica, Chalula Mexico, was founded a year ago by VCU alumnus Ray Schwartz, professor of Dance. It is a forum to bring together artists for artistic, intellectual and cultural exchange March 24 - April 4.
Kat Legault, dancer and Department of Theatre faculty member, will be teaching workshops in integrating voice, emotion and movement in dance, in partnering, and will perform her choreography Poor Edward and Epoch with co-choreographers Rob Petres and Damion Bond (both alumni of VCU). Lea Marshall, of Dance, will perform Bond’s solo Rio Abaja Rio and Scott Putman, also of Dance, will perform and teach workshops in Elemental Body Alignment Systems and present a paper.

3D Multiples: The Object of Production
In conjunction with Command Print: The Southern Graphics Council
Conference hosted by the VCU Department of Painting and Printmaking
1708 Gallery collaborates with the VCU Painting and Printmaking Department
in an exciting new exhibition that investigates the association of the
artist’s multiple to the commodity-based products that influx our daily
lives. By expounding on the processes of printmaking, 3D Multiples: The
Object of Production compares and contrasts the relationship of current
art practices to the manufacturing of mass-produced objects.

Heath Matysek-Snyder received his BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2000 and his MFA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2004. Following graduate school Matysek-Snyder was a Resident Artist at San Diego Sate University, in the Furniture Design program from 2005-2007, Currently he is Tom Loeser’s sabbatical replacement at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Matysek-Snyder has been included in both national and international exhibitions.

INSIDE/OUT, the feature film directed and shot by Rob Tregenza, director of the VCUarts Cinema program, and screened in the Cannes, Toronto, Sundance and Rotterdam International Film Festivals, will make its Virginia premiere on March 27th at 7:00pm at the Byrd Theatre as part of the James River Film Festival.
