The title of his piece is: Maiden Blush (2010, oil painting on linen canvas, 16″ x 20″). In addition to the staff show, there is a photography exhibition called Truth/Beauty and Masterwork Paintings.

The second show, in celebration of the Mexican holiday Dia de los Muertos, is the 4th Annual Ofrenda- Art for the Dead Exhibition at the Torpedo Factory in Old Town Alexandria. The dates of the show are Oct 28 – Nov 9, and there are a number of scheduled events including a parade, performances, and music on Oct 30th. Matthew will be attending the parade on Oct 30th and be available to talk about his work, Nadie se Muere (2010, oil on canvas, 30″ x 40″), on Saturday, Nov 6th, from 2pm – 3:30pm. A source of inspiration for this painting came from his experience visiting the ancient pyramids in Teotihuacan: City of the Gods near Mexico City.
