Sound design and editing, set design, animation, logo creation, and gallery director…Mariam has her hands in a lot of pots. Before becoming gallery director of ISHQ Fine Arts Gallery and Textile Studio, she was artist/campaign director for “Street Stories,” a social awareness and public art project with the Daily Planet homeless shelter and the Greater Richmond Transit Company in Richmond. For this project she interviewed and documented homeless individuals to create eight portraits for a public display on city busses. Mariam has also been teaching an undergraduate Kinetic Imaging course, “Introduction to Animation, Time Base Studio and Project Animation.”
